Porta potty rental in Shelbyville: when can it arrive?
A Shelbyville porta potty usually arrives the next business day. Shelbyville sits about 27 miles south of our Southpark Drive yard on US-231, so Shelbyville stops are grouped into planned routes. Same-day is possible only on request, on a weekday before 12:00 PM, when a route is open.
For a job start on Monday, call by the prior Thursday. For May, June and fall weekends, book 1–2 weeks ahead.
The driver calls 30–60 minutes before arriving. You don't have to be there.
Celebration week and horse show restrooms
The Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration runs 11 days before Labor Day on the 105-acre Celebration Grounds and draws about 250,000 spectators. Barn crews, vendors and campers in Shelbyville book units early that week. Reserve standard units 2 weeks ahead and restroom trailers 3–6 weeks ahead.
Get the grounds office's OK for your spot before you book. Late-August heat runs near 90°F, so add a mid-week service visit for a full show week.
See restroom trailer rental for power and water needs.

Shelbyville city rules for street placement
Shelbyville is the Bedford County seat with its own city government at City Hall, 201 North Spring Street. A porta potty on your own Shelbyville property needs no permit. A unit placed in a city street, sidewalk or right-of-way needs City of Shelbyville approval before delivery day.
Contact details are on the City of Shelbyville website. County land outside city limits follows Bedford County rules.
Plants, distribution yards and trucking lots
Shelbyville has a Tyson Foods plant, a Walmart distribution center, pencil makers and several trucking firms, so many Shelbyville jobs are outdoor crews on big lots. OSHA requires at least 1 toilet for up to 20 workers. Two-shift Shelbyville sites often add an extra service visit each week.
- 28-day billing with weekly service
- Gate contact and check-in rules on the order
- Hand washing station near break areas
Read the OSHA toilet rules for job sites.
Duck River low ground after heavy rain
The Duck River wraps around the south and east sides of Shelbyville, and the low ground near the river stays soft after heavy rain. Place a Shelbyville unit on firm, higher ground, at least 4 feet from any ditch, with the truck able to park within about 15 feet.
A gravel or plywood pad keeps the unit level on wet clay. See our rainy season placement tips.
