Septic or Plumbing Failure? How to Get a Temporary Toilet Fast
When a septic tank or main sewer line fails, Sean Rental Works can usually set a porta potty at your home the same weekday if you call before noon and a truck is open. Place the unit on firm ground near the door you use most, away from the drain field. Home rentals run on a 28-day cycle with weekly service until you call for pickup.
Most quotes are given on the first call. Mon–Fri 7:00 AM–6:00 PM · Sat 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
How fast can I get a porta potty when my septic fails?
A porta potty can reach most Murfreesboro and nearby Rutherford County homes the same weekday when you call before 12:00 PM and a truck is open. Farther towns are usually next day. A rush fee may apply, and dispatch tells you the amount on the call before you book the porta potty.

Where should a temporary toilet go at my house?
Put a temporary toilet on firm, level ground near the door your family uses most, within about 15 feet of where the service truck can park. Keep the porta potty and the truck off the septic tank, the drain field and any area the septic crew will dig. A driveway edge often works well.
- Near a porch light for night trips
- Out of the excavator's path
- A 4-foot path from the drive
- Inside your lot line, off the street
How long will the septic repair take?
Septic repair time depends on the permit and the crew. Tennessee requires a septic system permit for the construction, modification or repair of a septic system, and a TDEC environmental scientist evaluates the site. Plan at least one 28-day porta potty rental cycle for the full repair, not just the dig day.
Read the TDEC septic system FAQ for the permit steps. Your septic contractor can give you a better time estimate.
City sewer line breaks are often faster, but the yard may still be torn up for days.

How long does a home toilet rental last?
A home toilet rental for a septic or plumbing repair runs on a 28-day cycle, not a calendar month, with weekly service included. Billing renews every 28 days until you call for pickup, so call as soon as the plumber or septic crew finishes. Pickup of a home toilet is not automatic.
This is the same plan builders use. See residential porta potty rental for home projects.
Standard or deluxe for a family?
A deluxe flushing unit is the better fit for most families, because it adds a foot-pump flush, a built-in sink, a mirror and paper towels, and it needs no hookups. A standard porta potty works well for a short repair or a household of 2 adults. Kids and older family members usually find the deluxe easier.

Compare the deluxe flushing porta potty with a standard unit.
Do I need a hand wash station too?
A standard porta potty has hand sanitizer, not running water. If your home water is shut off or the kitchen sink drains to the failed system, add a hand washing station with 2 foot-pump basins, soap, paper towels and a fresh-water tank. A deluxe flushing unit has its own small sink.
See hand washing station rental. The station needs no hookups.
What should I have ready when I call?
Have 4 things ready: the street address or ZIP, the spot you want, how many people live in the house and how long the repair should take. Sean Rental Works uses those details to build an itemized quote with the unit, rental length, delivery, pickup, servicing and tax. Pay by debit or credit card, Amex included.

How often is a home unit serviced?
A home porta potty gets weekly service: pump out, clean, restock toilet paper and refill hand sanitizer. A standard unit holds about 200 uses between services, so a family of 5 using it all day can come close to that in a week. Add an extra service visit if the tank fills early.
Free lockable hasp on request if the unit sits near the road.
