Porta Potty Delivery Checklist

Seven quick checks so the driver can set your unit fast, even when you are not home.

1. Pick firm, level ground

Grass, gravel, concrete or packed dirt all work. A slight slope is fine. After rain, clay soil gets soft, so a gravel or plywood pad helps.

2. Check the size

About 4 ft × 4 ft

A standard unit stands about 7.5 ft tall. A wheelchair-accessible unit is about 7.5 ft wide and needs a wider gate.

3. Clear a path

4 ft wide or more

The gate or path to the spot must be at least about 4 ft wide. Move parked cars from the driveway.

4. Truck access

Within about 15 ft

The service truck should park within about 15 feet of the unit. Tell dispatch if the spot is farther.

5. Mark the spot

Use a cone, flag, ribbon or chalk X. Unlock gates or text the gate code. You do not need to be there.

6. Know the timing

Routes are built the morning of delivery, so no exact time is promised. The driver calls about 30 to 60 minutes before arriving.

7. Permits

On your own property, no permit is needed. A unit in the street or public right-of-way needs city approval first.
